If you’re like me, you’ve been in situations in which you’ve felt alone.

I’ve often felt alone being the “only” one in the room. The “only”..., you fill in the blank. For me, it was the “only” female or the “only” Black person. If you’re anything like me, you probably have tried to fit in, because you didn’t want to seem different, but you felt uncomfortable and realized you weren’t being true to yourself.

I looked in the mirror one day and decided I can be successful while being my authentic self.

Things didn’t always go as planned.

It took time to build my confidence.

But I figured it out and you can, too.
